Doug Koenig’s Championship Season: Learning the Ropes

Hamburg, PA., – The fun continues this week with Doug in central Alabama wrapping up a southern tradition of squirrel hunting with dogs. Teams are vying for bragging rights for the most squirrel’s hunted and total weight, so its game on as all eyes and heads are fixed to the quick jumping squirrels in the treetop canopy.

Then, it’s all about learning the ropes as Doug mentors his sons Trevor and Bradley at the US Steel Nationals in Florida. Shooting 195 rounds over three days, competitors with the overall combined four best run times on eight stages is the end goal. It’s a pure test of speed, accuracy and concentration in pursuit of a winning performance.

This weeks shooting tip, Doug shares the importance of practicing the surrender draw, it’s all about form.
